XCOM 6.2 [Spectrum Concepts, Inc.]

XCOM 6.2 is a family of software products that permits high-speed datatransfer between computers, including those that use different operatingsystems. XCOM 6.2, using LU 6.2, connects with IBM's System NetworkArchitecture to transfer files and initiate activities on a wide varietyof remote systems. On the mainframe, XCOM 6.2 is a VTAM application thateliminates the overhead of intermediate software such as CICS. XCOM 6.2can connect a workstation system to IBM PCs and compatibles, IBMmainframes, IBM System 3X, DEC VAX, AS/400, Data General, Tandem,Stratus-System/88, and other UNIX systems.A workstation running XCOM 6.2 can serve as a gateway to mainframeservices for local users and for users who have remote access to theworkstation system through other networks combining XCOM 6.2 with the uuxcapabilities of the workstation system, users can submit jobs through thedial-up network to be run on an MVS host.XCOM 6.2 fits seamlessly into a workstation environment. A command lineinterface and optional menu interface are provided.
